Agora Sant Cugat International School is a prestigious private international school, founded in 1989, with three campuses located in Sant Cugat and which occupies sixth place in the top ten ranking of the best schools in Spain. The school has obtained IB Continuum accreditation for the International Baccalaureate programme with the three curricular programmes in all its educational stages and since 2016 has also been offering Vocational Training degrees. Characterised by its educational innovation and personalised attention to each student, it offers a truly multilingual education where teaching is mixed, plural and open, encouraging respect for different beliefs in order to educate in dialogue and tolerance. The school provides students with the tools to build their own learning and focuses not only on academic performance, but also on personal development.


We are currently looking to appoint a new PYP Coordinator (Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate).


These are the main responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Provide visionary leadership to the Primary Stage team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Primary Stage, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Lead and support faculty development initiatives to enhance teaching practices, curriculum delivery, and assessment strategies.
  • Collaborate with other school leaders to maintain coherence and alignment across all educational stages.

Curriculum Development and Implementation:

  • Ensure the effective implementation of the IB PYP framework, maintaining fidelity to the IB's philosophy and standards.
  • Work closely with subject coordinators and teachers to develop, review, and refine curriculum documents, assessments, and instructional materials.
  • Monitor and evaluate the delivery of the curriculum, providing guidance and support to enhance student learning outcomes.

Student Support and Well-being:

  • Champion a student-centered approach to education, promoting academic rigor, inquiry-based learning, and holistic development.
  • Collaborate with the Student Services team to provide comprehensive support services, including academic counseling, career guidance, and pastoral care.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that nurtures the social, emotional, and cultural well-being of all students.

Community Engagement:

  • Cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, and external stakeholders, fostering open communication and partnership.
  • Organize and participate in events, workshops, and conferences to promote the school's mission, values, and educational philosophy.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the Primary Stage, representing the school in local, national, and international forums as required.

Requisites:

• Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education

• Master's Degree in Management is desirable

• High level of English, Spanish and Catalan (desirable)

• 2 years of experience in the role

• A valid work permit to work in Spain/European Union
